HS grades: high-strength electrical steel strip
Very high tensile strength for mechanical loading. Due to their high speeds, electric motors in car engines have additional requirements when it comes to
the mechanical stress to which electrical steel strip can be subjected. To meet these special requirements, we developed extremely strong HS (high strength) variations based on our NO grades.
Yield strengths above 500 MPa (73 ksi)
For modern electric vehicle engines, we combine our expertise in electrical steel strip with our expertise in extraordinary tensile strength. Just think of the rotor teeth, which are subjected to extremely high mechanical stress at high speeds. CDW-PERM® grades - unmatched magnetizability
Highly permeable steel strip grades for improved efficiency.
Waelzholz CDW-PERM® grades are steel strip grades with a particularly high magnetic permeability. We also produce significantly higher polarization at the same energy input with our CDW-PERM® grades compared to standard grades. The result is excellent magnetizability in both grade variations as well as a significant increase in thermal conductivity in the CDW-PERM® variation.
Optimal polarization and thermal conductivity for electrical devices
These high-permeability steel strip grades are ideal for high-performance electrical devices. Due to their high permeability values, they allow for higher motor torques. To top it off, our CDW-PERM® grades have excellent thermal conductivity, ensuring that heat built up during motor operation can easily flow out.
