High strength steel and spring steel

PT strip is a spring steel within the group of specialty steels and has good spring properties in combination with good formability, without piece hardening of your springs. Sorbitex is another specialty steel that has very good spring properties and Rawael is another specialty steel that offers the possibility of very tight tolerances both in terms of mechanical properties and dimension.

PT band

PT stands for Pre Tempered and in practice means that the material has been given a bainitic structure through interstage hardening. The bainitic structure gives the material good formability and high strength at the same time.

Sorbitex

Sorbitex is a sorbitically hardened and textured spring steel where the rolling reduction can be up to about 90%.

Rawael

With Rawael, you get a high-strength, micro-alloyed strip steel with good formability and tight tolerances both in terms of dimension and mechanical properties.

More about our specialty steels

PT band

PT strips have a clearly better formability for a given strength than the martensitic hardened materials. A martensitic hardened material has very limited formability and bendability. Therefore, the component must be manufactured and shaped in the annealed/soft state and
the component must be case hardened afterwards. With PT strips, you eliminate work hardening of your component with the possibility of significantly tighter dimensional tolerances. In addition, you will achieve a shorter lead time and less scrap with PT-Band. The yield strength of PT-Band can be selected between RM=900-1500 MPa.

Sorbitex

The material offers tensile strengths up to about 3000 MPa and is used
mainly for return springs for car belts, vacuum cleaner cables etc. The material is supplied with a ground surface and normally with rounded edges to maximize the fatigue properties. The performance of a Sorbitex return spring exceeds that of martensitic hardened return springs.

Rawael

Rawael material allows you to achieve very tight tolerances for the final product and good productivity. You can optimize your manufacturing process in a completely different way than with a material with larger variations. Thanks to its low carbon content, RAWAEL is also weldable. The yield strength can be selected between RM=700-1200 MPa.
